Overview  

Seeking an experienced hospitality professional to support operations, quality control, and guest satisfaction in a busy restaurant environment. The role requires strong frontline service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily front-of-house operations to ensure smooth service flow and high standards of hospitality.

- Greet and assist guests, manage reservations, seating, and walk-ins to optimize dining room turnover and guest experience.

- Monitor service standards, train and mentor junior staff, and provide constructive feedback to maintain consistent performance.

- Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure timely order delivery and accurate billing.

- Conduct regular quality checks of food presentation, table settings, and cleanliness; report issues and implement corrective actions.

- Handle guest complaints and special requests professionally, escalating to management when necessary.

- Assist in inventory monitoring for front-of-house supplies; communicate shortages and assist with stock rotation.

- Support opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and daily reconciliation as required.

- Contribute to shift briefings and communicate health & safety, hygiene, and company policy compliance.

- Participate in promotional activities and upselling initiatives to drive revenue and enhance guest experience.

Skills and Qualifications

- Native Maltese language proficiency required; excellent spoken and written communication skills in Maltese. Additional language skills desirable.

- Relevant experience at executive or supervisory level in a restaurant or hospitality setting.

- Strong customer-service orientation with proven ability to manage guest relations and resolve issues calmly.

- Solid leadership and team-coaching abilities; experience training staff and enforcing standards.

- Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask under pressure.

- Basic numeracy and experience with cash handling, POS systems, and reservation software.

- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and local hospitality regulations.

- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

- Professional demeanor, punctuality, and a proactive, solution-focused attitude.
